Hair built to be lived in, not just photographed
Maison de Mèche is a by-appointment studio in Ikoyi. Four chairs, no rush, and a standard of finishing we refuse to negotiate.
I opened the studio
I couldn't find
For years I sat in chairs where the finish was beautiful and the aftermath was not — tight braids, burnt ends, colour that looked incredible for nine days.
Maison de Mèche is the correction of that. We plan around what your hair can actually hold, we tell you when the answer is no, and we build looks that survive the week after the appointment.
Every stylist here is trained on textured hair specifically — not as a specialism, as the baseline.

How we work
Scalp first
We treat the foundation before we style the surface. Healthy scalp, longer-lasting work.
Honest quoting
Extra length, extra hair, extra time — priced before we start, never after.
Low tension
No style leaves this studio pulling. Your edges are not a styling cost.
Time respected
Back-to-back booking with real buffers, so your appointment starts when it says it does.

In their words
“I've never had an install sit this flat. Three weeks in and the hairline still reads as mine — nobody has guessed once.”
Chioma A.
Creative Director, Lagos
“They talked me out of the colour I asked for and gave me the one I actually wanted. That kind of honesty is rare in a chair.”
Amara O.
Lawyer, Victoria Island
“My braids were done in five hours with zero tension headaches. My edges have grown back for the first time in years.”
Tolu B.
Product Designer
“Bridal trial, timeline, travel — all handled. On the morning itself I did nothing but sit still and drink tea.”
